Since 2016, CMP Composites has specialized in engineering and manufacturing composite materials. As part of its development, the company from Gironde needed a new oven to process carbon tubes with epoxy resin. The required oven needed to have a usable length of 7 meters. To meet this requirement, CMP Composites turned to SAT Thermique, renowned for its expertise and ability to provide customized solutions.
PRECISION AND PERFORMANCE
Our team of thermal engineers took on this challenge by designing an 8-meter-long oven dedicated to the polymerization of composite parts that can reach a diameter of 1.8 meters, placed on a trolley. This oven, powered by electricity, achieves heating performances of up to 230°C with remarkable temperature homogeneity of +/- 5°C.
The curved architecture at the top of the double door optimizes its thermal efficiency. This inclination promotes the circulation of hot air, minimizing cold spots and ensuring an even temperature distribution inside the oven. Diffusers, directly integrated into the door, play a key role in channeling and directing the heat evenly. These devices enable targeted heat distribution, improving the machine’s energy efficiency and ensuring precise and homogeneous thermal treatment of the materials.
Another unique feature of this SAT equipment is the rotation of the parts. Indeed, to facilitate the processing of the tubes, we integrated a motorized clutch at the rear of the machine, at the request of our client, allowing the rotation of the 2,000 kg load. This technology ensures homogeneous and optimal treatment of the tubes with uniform heat distribution, thereby guaranteeing superior quality of the finished products.
